Brendon Bullen, Veterinarian and Owner
Hi there, my name is Brendon and I joined the Kelburn team in 2012 after spending the previous 6 years working as a companion animal vet in NZ and the UK. I love it here at Kelburn, and have enjoyed getting to know everyone that comes to the clinic.
I enjoy all aspects of veterinary science, with a special interest in dentistry and exotics. As well as looking after cats and dogs, I run a referral service for rabbits and other small mammals.
I do a small amount of lecturing in the veterinary course at Massey University. I also work for our profession’s regulator, the NZ Veterinary Council, helping maintain national veterinary standards.
I have a passion for native wildlife, and love the fact that Wellington has Zealandia right in the heart of the city. I am completely obsessed with mountain biking.
Vanessa Croskery, Veterinarian
Hi, my name’s Vanessa and I joined the team at Kelburn Vets in 2021. I graduated from vet school with distinction at Massey University in 2012. I then began working at the Wellington SPCA veterinary clinic, where I did a mix of shelter work and private practice consulting for 9 years.
I really enjoy the continual variety and challenges that being a primary care vet brings. I particularly love tricky medical cases and dermatology.
Outside of work I am kept busy raising my 2 children and meeting the demands of my cats.
Ana Radisa, Veterinarian
Hi, I’m Ana. I am delighted to have joined the team in 2023. I graduated from Massey in 2020 and spent the first 2 years of my career working on the Kāpiti Coast caring for mostly cats and dogs.
I am passionate about many aspects of being a vet and am looking forward to seeing a wider variety of patients here in Kelburn. In particular I enjoy medical cases, clinical pathology and dentistry.
Outside of work I enjoy a bit of travelling, nature walks and cooking a variety of cuisines at home.
I also care for my ginger cat, Pabu - he is quite a handful!
Crystal Payne, Co-Team Leader and Veterinary Nurse
Hi, I'm Crystal. I joined the team here at Kelburn Vets in 2018. I love being a Vet Nurse and am passionate about providing high quality nursing care. I have a particular interest in anaesthesia, especially the more tricky rabbit cases. I am also very interested in canine behaviour.
Christie Derwin, Co-Team Leader and Veterinary Nurse
Hi, I'm Christie. I joined the team at Kelburn Vets in 2017 and recently completed a Bachelor of Veterinary nursing at the end of 2023. I love getting to work with animals every day and am passionate about setting a high standard of care for our patients. I have a special interest in anaesthesia, with a focus on rabbit anaesthesia.
Outside of work I enjoy travelling, reading and spending time with my 2 naughty dogs, both SPCA rescues, Bear and Nala.
Rosie Subramoney, Veterinary Nurse
Hi I'm Rosie and I joined the team at Kelburn Vets in July 2023. Originally from Christchurch, I graduated in 2020 and moved up to Wellington soon after. I enjoy all aspects of nursing and love learning and refining my skills. I have a passion for anesthesia and medical nursing.
In my spare time I enjoy cooking, reading, being outdoors and of course spending time with my cat Nala.
Alex Hurley, Veterinary Nurse
Hi I'm Alex. I joined the team at Kelburn Vets in 2022. In 2023 I completed my Diploma in Veterinary Nursing and have really enjoyed working with our lovely patients, particularly the smaller animals that we see.
I have a real passion for pocket pets, having owned many throughout the years. I am particularly dedicated to their post operative care and educating clients on their recovery.
Outside of work I enjoy bouldering, playing board games and entertaining my indoor cat, Momo.
